Big, bold South American flavours in this meal tha Big, bold South American flavours in this meal that came together without a recipe, just went with the feel. Spicey marinated and barbecued prawns, a fresh corn, tomato, chili, capsicum and coriander salsa with plenty of lime, and a generous scoop of avocado on the side. We'd been out most of the day and something like this dish proved quick, tasty and easy. Dinner done βœ”οΈ
We could have gone to the local Thai for takeaway We could have gone to the local Thai for takeaway but, honestly, takeaways never taste as good as eat in or cook at home. Is it something to do with the pastic containers, do you think? Tonight Jeff put together this scrumptiously delicious Thai inspired duck dish. I have to say the Thai basil gave it the perfect flavour bomb The duck was ever so tender, the vegetables simple and the sauce brought it all together. Thanks Jeff 😊 πŸ«‚
I honestly don't remember the first time I ate tof I honestly don't remember the first time I ate tofu. It definitely wasn't something we had growing up, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't love at first bite.

But, somewhere along the way tofu earned a place on my plate, and as I get older I'm enjoying it more and more.

A great plant based protein, naturally low in saturated fats, perfect for women in those hormonal years. I love the way it soaks up flavours and is easy to cook. Simple, versatile and surprisingly satisfying.

Funny how foods we once baulked at end up becoming staples.

A fridge scan found enough vegetables, goats cheese, a lonely mushroom, eggs and a half bottle of cream nearing expiry.

This simple frittata with garlicky roasted pumpkin, zucchini and cauliflower with goats cheese was exactly what we were craving πŸ˜‹
Hmmm... πŸ’ what to do with these home grown, jui Hmmm... πŸ’ what to do with these home grown, juicey cherries that one of my lovely clients dropped off.

Eat them or cook them to go in the Christmas Trifle? 🍰

They're packed with antioxidants (hello bright red anthocyanins), a good hit of Vit C and an amount of natural melatonin. Better sleep, calmer evenings anyone?

Simple and seasonal. πŸ’
Porridge in summer? Absolutely! πŸ˜ƒ It's become Porridge in summer? Absolutely! πŸ˜ƒ

It's become a little Sunday ritual for us - oats, cinnamon, ripe stone fruit, a sprinkle of berries, nothing complicated.

Even on the warmest of mornings there's something grounding about starting the day with a bowl that actually nourishes you. Light, fresh and full of flavour - proof that a "winter" breakfast can be just as delicious in summer when you use what's in season.

Sometimes the best routines are the ones that quietly carry you through every season.
Have you ever seen such a perfectly shaped poached Have you ever seen such a perfectly shaped poached egg? We asked the chef his secret and will be practising when we get home.

A day in Hobart on foot needs a plate like this - steady energy for exploring πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ
